Our monday night sessions are suitable for all abilities. Whether you've never done any improv or perferming before or have been at it for years.
Our ethos is "loud, proud and wrong!" - so don't be afraid to have a go.
Each month, we focus on a theme, focussing on different aspects of it over the course of 3-4 weeks, starting at the very basics and working upwards. Examples include character work, miming, and spontaneity.
No need to wait for the start of the month to join in, it's easy to pick up at any time.
The last Monday of the month is the Improv Jam, a relaxed performance environment where everyone gets a chance to play some improv games on stage, or watch others have a go if you prefer.
After the sessions several of us usually go to the pub.
7pm at the Band Factory every Monday night (except bank holidays)
Your first session is FREE, then £3 a session afterwards.
Just turn up, or register on Meetup for notifications in case anything changes.
Once you've been coming for a while, you can sign up to be in one of our casts.
Our group of supportive teachers will assess if you're ready and then you'll be given a chance to perform in one of our Elephant in the Room shows alongside more experienced improvisers.
You'll come to some rehearsals, practice the games you'll be performing and laugh the whole time. We've got your back all the way.
If short-form is sketch comedy then long-form is like a movie!
We have a number of other troupes where members rehearse on various days.
Flopbusters is a smaller group who meet on Wednesdays dedicated to rehearsals for the improvised movie format.
Circus of Public Opinion and other troupes meet for rehearsals as needed whenever they have a show coming up.
We regularly have open-format workshops for these and others to introduce new-comers to the formats and get you on stage.
Come along on Mondays first, join our whatsapp groups and get stuck in!
